A custom frame package is made up of many parts. The major components
are the moulding or frame, mat board for space and design, mounting board to
attach the art to, filler board to fill the back of the frame, and glazing which
is either glass or acrylic.
- Moulding (What we call the frame)

The moulding or frame surrounds the art. The moulding
enhances the art's character and should reflect the style and period of the
art.
Framed In Tatnuck carries over
2000 different mouldings to select from. We carry mouldings from
Larson-Juhl, AMPF,
Studio Moulding, Presto Frame
Moulding, Don Mar, Nurre
Caxton, AMCI,
Framerica, Clark Metals, and
Nielsen
Metals. We carry everything from Laminated Plaques and thin metal to hand carved closed-corner gold leafed frames. You are sure to find a
frame that meets your needs, style and budget!

- Mat Board

Framed In Tatnuck
carries all major brands of mat board. In-stock vendors include
Artique,
Bainbridge, and Crescent. This gives us a large range of colors
and fabric surfaces to ensure the right look for your artwork. All of
our mat boards are conservation boards that meet the
FACTS standards.

- Mounting Board
- The mounting board sits behind the artwork. It must be of the
highest quality to ensure longevity of the artwork. At
Framed In Tatnuck we use either
100% 4-ply Rag board or
Bainbridge
Alphamount, an
Artcare
board which is a ph neutral board with buffering to reduce potential acid
migration in the future .

- Filler Board
- At Framed In Tatnuck
we use Bainbridge Foam board for filler board. Our primary filler
board is Bainbridge's
Artcare
line of foam board. All
Artcare products feature MicroChamber®
technology, for active protection against air pollution, paper degradation
and the by-products of the art´s own aging - something no other
museum quality board can do!

- Glazing
-
If it's worth framing, it's usually worth protecting. At
Framed In Tatnuck we strongly
recommend the use of glazing with UV filtering. We feature
Conservation glass from
TruVue.
TruVue®
manufactures a complete line of TruGuard® Conservation Series® Glass with UV
Protection to protect your framed valuables. For larger pieces we
recommend UV filtered Acrylic from CYRO
Industries.
