Notice how each frame and mat were selected to coordinate style and tone without being exact matches.  Cotton (Rag) mat boards are used to give a period feel to old photos while proper preservation treatment is applied.  Multiple photos use v-grooves to unify the design and visual effect.

The same set of a few colors are used as double mats and single mats.  One color may appear as a single mat, a top mat, or an under mat, thus creating a unified look and feel to the entire wall grouping.

Different mat opening shapes are used to enhance individual photos and create interest in the grouping.
